On the 8th of December 2022, the Chamber of Commerce hosted a country seminar on Kosovo to explore business opportunities between both countries. Sabrina Aksil, Markets Coordinator International Affairs, welcomed the delegation from Kosovo, the second one this year, which was headed by Luxembourg’s non-resident Ambassador to Kosovo H.E. Patrick Heck. The delegation was composed of representatives from the Kosovo Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Trade and Industry who presented the developments of the country. This was then followed by a company testimony from Dr Adnan Imeri, Infra Chain, and Mr Pascal Fabing, private sector expert at LuxDev.

Together with the Chamber of Commerce, the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs and Ambassador Patrick Heck, the tendencies of this market were explored and opportunities of cooperation between both Luxembourg and Kosovo discussed. The numerous presentations showed that Kosovo has developed into a striving and increasingly interesting market with a lot of economic momentum to it. Kosovo has developed significantly over the last years and has witnessed growth in the fields of metals, wood, manufacturing and plastics. Being the youngest state in Europe, Kosovo is also a market with many young talents especially in the IT sector - a sector that is developing fast. When it comes to digitalization, Kosovo has implemented certain tools allowing it to develop competence and reputation in this sector: Kosovo was actually the first country to have implemented an electronic drivers license in 2018 meaning drivers can “carry” their documentation handily on the smartphone.

The Chamber of Commerce is planning an exploratory mission to Kosovo in the second semester of 2023.
