Demistifying public procurement for EU and international institutions

Go International

The International Affairs of the Chamber of Commerce and its Enterprise Europe Network organised a webinar to help companies understand and access European and global public procurement opportunities.

Public procurement can appear complex, yet it represents a powerful lever for companies seeking to expand their international footprint. The webinar “ABC of EU and International Public Procurement”, held on 24 March 2026, focused on providing a clear overview of EU and international procedures while demonstrating the concrete opportunities available to companies seeking to secure high-value international contracts.

The webinar provided a comprehensive overview of EU-level procurement, guiding participants through the key procedures and requirements such as e-invoicing, the European Single Procurement Document (ESPD) and best practices for navigating Tenders Electronic Daily (TED).

The webinar also included a reverse pitch session bringing together leading EU and international institutions offering companies direct insights into their procurement needs and procedures. Representatives from the Office for Infrastructure and Logistics in Luxembourg (OIL) and the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU), shared perspectives from an operational perspective, while the international dimension was highlighted by the World Bank and the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA). Together, these institutions provided a panoramic view of procurement mechanisms, expectations, and opportunities both at EU and global levels.

A fireside chat brought firsthand insights into how Luxembourg companies have successfully engaged in international public procurement projects. The discussion highlighted the importance of adopting a strategic approach from identifying the right geographic scope to building capabilities step by step. Despite the obstacles, the conversation showcased inspiring Luxembourg success stories, demonstrating that international public procurement is accessible to companies of all sizes.

To support companies in navigating international public procurement opportunities, the Tender Alert Service of the Chamber of Commerce and its Enterprise Europe Network provides personalised guidance, tailor-made tender notifications to connect businesses with relevant B2  opportunities , aligned with their activities and strategicobjectives.
