In today’s interconnected global economy, building robust international partnerships is no longer an option but a necessity to remain competitive and drive growth.
For businesses in Luxembourg, where international trade and collaboration form the backbone of its economy, finding the right partner can be both a strategic priority and a challenge.
To help companies navigate international partners, the Enterprise Europe Network of the Chamber of Commerce organised a webinar titled Exploring New Frontiers with the Partnership Opportunity Database. The goal of this webinar was to introduce the Partnership Opportunity Database, a free-of-charge matchmaking platform of the Enterprise Europe Network that can support companies to GO International.
The webinar opened with an introduction by Gunnar Matthiesen, Programme Coordination Manager for the Enterprise Europe Network in EISMEA (European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency), who shared an overview of the Enterprise Europe Network and its extensive international outreach at the disposal of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The Enterprise Europe Network helps businesses innovate and grow on an international scale. It is the world’s largest support network of the European Commission with its presence in 50 countries.
In Luxembourg, the Enterprise Europe Network consortium is built on a strategic partnership between the Chamber of Commerce, the Chamber of Crafts, and Luxinnovation. Together, these three institutions provide companies with a single point of entry to services that support SMEs in key areas such as internationalisation, technological innovation, access to finance, twin transition and many others.
Participants then had the opportunity to explore the Partnership Opportunity Database(POD), a valuable resource designed to help companies enter new markets and uncover promising opportunities abroad. This online platform gathers over 5.000 profiles from all over the world, and allows companies to publish detailed profiles describing their partnership needs. Throughout the partnership process, companies can benefit from the dedicated guidance and support of an Enterprise Europe Network.
Experts of the POD from the Chamber of Commerce and Luxinnovation highlighted the various types of profiles available on the platform and shared best practices for drafting an effective profile. This segment ended with a live demonstration of the platform showcasing how companies can leverage the database to connect with potential partners.
A panel discussion followed between the experts and company representatives who have actively used the platform: Vincent Sommer D’Yoire, Head of Partnership Department at kShuttle and Nadia Disselhoff, Head of Business Development at apc international SARL. They shared their first-hand experience and how the platform supported their international development, the challenges they encountered and practical recommendations on how to use the platform and the benefits it can bring them.
The webinar concluded with Q&A session giving participants the chance to interact with the speakers.
