We are pleased to invite you to participate in the 1st edition of the EU-Luxembourg Business Pulse Dialogues to be held on 16 October 2026. This inaugural edition will be entirely dedicated to the proposed Public Procurement Act and marks the launch of a new event series designed to foster a direct dialogue between Luxembourg businesses and the European institutions.
Public procurement represents a significant share of Europe's economy and is key to competitiveness and strategic resilience. On 9 September 2026, the European Commission presented its proposal for the Public Procurement Act, aimed at simplifiying procedures, improving effeciency and accessibility for SMEs, reducing administrative burdens, and better aligning procurement with innovation, sustainability and Europe's strategic priorities.
Date: Friday, 16 October 2026 • 10.15 - 11.45 am, followed by a networking lunch

Format: Interactive roundtable discussion and feedback exercise with a restrictive attendance to ensure quality dialogue.
Ms Esther Eva Schmidt, Deputy Head of Unit (D2) for public procurement at DG GROW - Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship & SMEs of the European Commission, will present the proposed reform of the EU public procurement regime and its expected implications for business operating across the EU, before engaging directly with participating companies to discuss their feedback, concerns and expectations.
The participation in the event is free of charge. Online registration is however required. As places are limited, please register as soon as possible, and no later than 9 October 2026. Once your registration has been confirmed, the organisers will get in touch with you to prepare your participation in the EU-Luxembourg Business Pulse Dialogue.
