The Chamber of Commerce, in close collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign and European affairs, has the pleasure to invite you to a seminar focused on the implementation of the EU-Japan Free Trade Agreement and its opportunities for Luxembourg economic operators on the 24th May, 2019 from 2pm to 5pm.

On 1 February 2019, the EU-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement, the biggest trade zone ever negotiated, entered into force. The trade agreement paves the way for an open trading zone of more than 600 million people along with a commitment to uphold the highest environmental and social standards. This bears clear benefits and opportunities for Luxembourg companies and strengthens bilateral economic ties.

On this occasion, H.E. Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Mr Jean Asselborn and Mr Jean-Luc Demarty, Director-General for Trade, EU Commission will give the keynote speeches, while H.E. Ambassador of Japan, Mr. Shigeji Suzuki and Director General of Japan External Trade Organization Mr. Hiroo Inoue, will explain the overall benefit and positive impacts of EPA for Japanese companies to export in Europe. Besides, the Panel discussion will be moderated by Ms. Yuriko Matsuno, Executive director, Luxembourg Trade and Investment Office in Japan and the panelists are composed by Luxembourgish companies doing business with Japan. The seminar will be concluded by a networking reception.
