Tatarstan: Round Table in the framework of the visit of H.E. Rustam Minnikhanov, President of the Republic

The Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce is pleased to invite you to the Round Table discussion highlighting business opportunities between Luxembourg and Tatarstan, which will be organised on the occasion of the visit of H.E. Rustam Minnikhanov, President of the Republic of Tatarstan to Luxembourg, on November 20, 2015 at 13.00 in our premises.

Located in the Volga Federal District, the Republic of Tatarstan, a constituent entity of the Russian Federation, has emerged as one of the most economically developed regions in Russia. The Republic is rich in natural resources and highly industrialised with an industrial production representing more than 40% of Republic's gross regional domestic product. The most developed manufacturing industries are the petrochemical industry, machine building, engineering, automotive and aviation. Tatarstan’s capital Kazan is of particular interest to Luxembourg companies since the Kazan area is seeking to diversify its economic landscape in the same fields as Luxembourg, e.g. in eco-technologies, ICT and logistics. With the Innopolis project, gathering incubators, universities, technoparks and a special economic zone, Tatarstan aims at positioning itself as a leading IT capital in Russia.

The visit of President Minnikhanov to Luxembourg will provide an opportunity for Luxembourg companies to follow up on his previous visit to the Grand Duchy which took place in April 2012 and the subsequent economic mission headed by the former Prime Minister Jean-Claude Juncker to Kazan in September 2012. The round table discussion aims at informing interested companies about the Tatar economic landscape and business opportunities between Luxembourg and Tatarstan in various sectors of activity, providing the audience with the opportunity to present their potential for the Tatar market and to ask questions directly to the highest ranking officials.
