Country seminar: Czech Republic

The Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic, H.E. Mr. Jan Mládek, will be visiting Luxembourg on September 22, 2015. In the framework of this visit, the Chamber of Commerce, in close cooperation with the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Luxembourg, will organise a country seminar on economic opportunities in the Czech Republic. The event will take place on the 22^nd of September and will start at 4:30 pm at the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce (7, rue Alcide de Gasperi, L-2981Luxembourg).

As one of the most successful Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) countries in terms of attracting foreign direct investment, the Czech Republic has the potential to offer fruitful business opportunities to Luxembourg companies. The Czech Republic has a projected GDP growth rate of 2.5% (IMF) in 2015, which ranks amongst the highest in the EU. Furthermore, the country benefits from other assets, such as a significant industrial potential (38% of GDP), a large trade surplus and an attractive business environment. The Czech economy is characterised by the predominance of several key sectors which include: ICT, Automotive Industry, Energy and Environment, Aerospace, Green Mobility, Life Sciences, Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials.

This seminar reflects the determination to strengthen and deepen commercial and economic ties between the two countries. During the event, special emphasis will be put on two target sectors, namely ICT and green technologies, specifically the field of renewable resources. However, other key sectors of the Czech economy will of course also be addressed.
