On 2 October 2026, the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce, through its Luxembourg Arbitration Center (LAC), hosted the 2026 edition of the Luxembourg Arbitration Day, organised by the Luxembourg Arbitration Association. Bringing together arbitration practitioners, in-house counsel, academics, judges and business representatives, the event provided a forum for exchanging views on the latest developments and future challenges shaping international arbitration.
The morning session featured a practical training on the drafting of arbitration clauses, focusing on complex commercial and investment fund structures.
The afternoon conference then featured discussions on a range of topics shaping the future of arbitration, including the use of artificial intelligence in arbitrator selection, recent developments in Luxembourg arbitration and jurisdictional issues arising in investment fund disputes. In particular, the panel “Luxembourg Arbitration: What’s New, What’s Next?” offered an opportunity to reflect on the evolution of arbitration in Luxembourg and the challenges ahead, with Anne-Sophie Theissen, Secretary General of the LAC, sharing the Centre’s perspective.
Opening the afternoon conference programme, Frank Krings, President of the Arbitration Council of the LAC, outlined the significant developments undertaken by the Centre over the past year, including the launch of its digital case management platform and the strengthening of its institutional framework through the expansion of the Arbitration Council. He emphasised the importance of combining innovation with continuous improvement in order to meet the evolving needs of arbitration users.
We warmly thank the Luxembourg Arbitration Association for organising this event, as well as all speakers, moderators and participants for their valuable contributions.
