In today's increasingly complex international trade environment, determining the origin of products has become a critical challenge for businesses. Correctly identifying product origin for certificates of origin is a prerequisite for export. During this workshop, we will explore the two different types of origin (preferential and non-preferential), their fundamental principles, the main determination methods, and the most common pitfalls to avoid. Join us to gain the practical knowledge and tools needed to confidently manage the origin of your products especially for certificates of origin.

Marc Bauer serves as Head of Customs, Trade Facilitation and Export Controls at the Stuttgart Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI). He advises companies on customs, trade policy, export controls, sanctions, and origin matters, leads CBAM advisory activities, and represents industry interests before German and EU authorities. He is a member of the DIHK Rules of Origin Commission, the ICC Global Customs and Trade Facilitation Commission, and the DG TAXUD Trade Contact Group representing Eurochambres.
