Welcome to the SET Plan conference 2015!

The 8th SET Plan conference will take place on 21-22 September 2015 at the European Convention Centre Luxembourg, during the Luxembourg’s Presidency of the European Union Council.

myenergy GIE, the national structure for energy consultancy, on behalf of the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Infrastructure and the Ministry of Housing, is hosting this 2015 edition of the SET Plan conference with the support of the European Commission.

The conference will represent a unique forum for all stakeholders to exchange information on new developments in the SET-Plan (Strategic Energy Technology Plan) in response to the great energy challenges ahead of the European Union. It will be held back-to-back with the informal council of the Energy Ministers in Luxembourg, thereby placing research and innovation in energy at the heart of Luxembourg’s Council Presidency.

The European Commission’s Energy Union strategy, adopted in February 2015, dedicates one of its five dimensions to research, innovation and competitiveness. The integrated SET-Plan will play a central role in a new European energy R&I approach designed to accelerate the energy system transformation.

During the one and a half days of the conference, participants will be able to engage in the debate around the importance of R&I in realising the European Union’s key energy policy targets and building the Energy Union. Achievements will be reviewed, innovative technologies showcased and new strategies will be presented to help reach these ambitious targets in order to meet the R&I energy challenges.

All registered participants are invited to a gala dinner on Monday 21 September, starting at 7.15pm which, in conjunction with other networking opportunities, will enable them to reflect upon the conference sessions and to discuss possible outcome and conclusions.
