The rules will also make information on product lifespan, repairability, recyclability and legal guarantees more visible in shops and online. Parliament has approved new consumer-protection rules requiring Luxembourg businesses to substantiate green claims and give shoppers clearer information on product durability, repairability and guarantees. The measure transposes an EU directive into the Consumer Code, targeting misleading environmental labels as well as gaps in information on how long products should last.
