Accompanied Visit of the Web Summit in Lisbon

The Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce, in close cooperation with the Luxembourg Embassy to Lisbon, has the pleasure of inviting you to participate in the Accompanied Visit to the Web Summit 2016, Europe’s Largest Technology Marketplace, a crossroads for the world’s largest buyers and sellers of technology, which will take place from November 8 to 10, 2016 in Lisbon, Portugal.

The Web Summit, also called “Davos for geeks”, is a platform for the world’s largest buyers and sellers of technology, alongside many of the world’s most disruptive emerging technology companies, held annually since 2010. The topic of the conference is focused on internet technology and attendees range from Fortune 500 companies to the world’s most exciting tech companies  (see here the list of attendees: https://websummit.net/attendees/featured-attendees).

Over the past five years, the event was held in Dublin, Ireland. In September 2015, organisers announced that the Web Summit would be held in Lisbon for the next 3 years, starting in 2016. For this edition, more than 50,000 attendees are expected. 65% of the participants are expected to be Senior Management including some 7,000 CEOs. 20,000 companies from more than 15 countries as well as the most promising start ups around Europe will be represented.

The Chamber of Commerce will host a tour of the exhibition on November 9, 2016 and is also pleased to invite Luxembourg companies to an official networking reception, held on Wednesday evening, with the possible presence of Xavier Bettel, Luxembourg Prime Minister, Minister of State & Minister for Communications and Media (tbc) at the Luxembourg Embassy to Lisbon. The Chamber of Commerce also selected a hotel, near to the Exhibition centre and will organise the transfers to the event site.
