Appointment of David Destappes as Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Baloise announces the appointment of David Destappes as Chief Operating Officer (COO), effective October 1, 2024. With nearly 30 years of experience in the life and non-life insurance sectors, David will bring valuable expertise and strategic vision to the Company, guiding its operations towards new horizons.

Over 30 years of insurance expertise

After a graduate in actuarial science, David has built his career within several insurance companies, holding key positions in strategic development, risk management, and reinsurance:

• P&V Assurances: for 11 years, David held several strategic positions, including Head of Strategic Marketing & Communication, Head of Technical (P&C, life, and benefits), and Head of P&C Business Development and Reinsurance for the mobility, housing, family, and business ecosystems.
• AXA Belgium: for 13 years, he successively served as a life actuary, head of retirement product development, and Segment Manager for the Mass Affluent clientele.
• During his actuarial studies, David worked successively at Commercial Union (now Aviva) as a non-life insurance actuary and at AG Assurances as a Business Relationship Manager for life insurance.

At 51 years old, he is also active on several boards of directors. This broad range of expertise demonstrates his versatility and commitment to innovation in all sectors he engages with.
