Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce
On 17 September 2019, the Chamber of Commerce's Plenary Assembly confirmed the appointment of Cindy Tereba as Director of the Chamber of Commerce's International Affairs department. She replaces Jeannot Erpelding, who has held the position since June 2014.
Following studies at the Heinrich-Heine University and the Academy of Fine Arts in Düsseldorf, Germany, Cindy Tereba began her career in e-commerce with a German startup in 2006. Starting in 2008, she was in charge of international business development at the German Chamber of Commerce (AHK) in the United Arab Emirates in Abu Dhabi, before joining the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce as an Economic and Commercial Attaché to launch the first permanent office in Berlin in February 2012.
With solid international experience and an excellent knowledge of the Luxembourg entrepreneurial ecosystem, Cindy Tereba's mission will be to contribute to the internationalisation of companies in Luxembourg and to develop economic and commercial exchanges with the support of a rich network of professional partners in Luxembourg and throughout the world. As such, Cindy Tereba is now also a new member of the Executive Committee of the Chamber of Commerce, with immediate effect.
On behalf of the Chamber of Commerce, Carlo Thelen, Director General, expressed his warmest gratitude to Jeannot Erpelding for his constant commitment while carrying out the responsibilities entrusted to him at the Chamber of Commerce. He highlighted in particular the hard work carried out these last few years and a discernible increase in the activities of International Affairs, and expressed his best wishes to Jeannot Erpelding on his future career path.
He further stated, ‘we are persuaded that Cindy is the ideal choice to build on the success of the past and to implement the new CC2025 strategy at the international level with the dynamic energy necessary and the support of a dedicated and experienced team to the satisfaction of all of the Chamber of Commerce's partners’.
Cindy Tereba also commented, ‘it is with great enthusiasm that I accept this new challenge and I thank the Board and management of the Chamber of Commerce for their confidence. In close collaboration with the public authorities, our networks abroad, and all of our partners, we will continue to support and strengthen the Chamber of Commerce's internationalisation activities for the benefit of Luxembourg’s businesses’.
