Mission économique

Monday 4 Nov 2019 > Thursday 7 Nov 2019

Minsk

The Chamber of Commerce of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, together with AWEX (the Walloon Export and Foreign Investment Agency), will organize an explorative trade mission to Minsk (Belarus) from the 4th to the 7th of November, 2019.

Participating companies from all sectors will have the opportunity to take part in business-to-business meetings with local companies and government representatives in Minsk over the course of two full days.

Due to the explorative nature of this trade mission, the number of participating companies is limited to six Luxembourgish and six Belgian companies. The first come, first served rule will be applied.

Belarus is a country with a population of about 10 million people and a territory of 207.000 square kilometers bordering Ukraine, Russia, Poland, Lithuania and Latvia. Due to the country's membership in the Eurasian Economic Union, goods from Belarus move freely to Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Armenia (as goods do within the EU).

Belarus keeps improving its business climate. Belarus ranks 37th in latest World Bank "Ease of Doing Business" rating, occupies the 29th place in the "starting business" parameter, is 25th when it comes to trading across borders and 5th on registering property.

Thanks to its new ICT legislation, the Belarusian High-Tech Park unites 388 companies that develop software products and provide ICT services to customers from more than 67 countries of the world. Today the Industrial Park "Great Stone" located on the "Belt and Road Initiative" from China to EU represents about $ 1 billion of investment with more than 40 resident companies and partners.

Belarus' visa-free regime allows citizens of 74 countries including Luxembourg to travel to Belarus for up to 30 days without visa.

In case of interest, you are kindly requested to duly complete the linked registration form no later than October 4th, 2019. For further information about this upcoming mission, feel free to contact Mr Steven Koener by phone (+352 42 39 39 - 379) or by email via cis@cc.lu.
