Multi-sectorial Economic Mission to Senegal and Ethiopia

Monday 1 Feb 2016 > Friday 5 Feb 2016

Mission économique

Monday 1 Feb 2016 > Friday 5 Feb 2016

Dakar (Senegal), Addis Ababa (Ethiopia)

The Chamber of Commerce of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg in close cooperation with the Luxembourg Embassies in Dakar and Addis Ababa will organise a multi-sectorial economic mission to the Republic of Senegal and the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia from the 1st to the 5th of February 2016.

It will be the first mission led by the Chamber of Commerce to the Sub-Saharan region of Africa. The objective of the trade mission is to promote and strenghten the commercial and economic ties between Luxembourg and the two respective countries. The economic mission will start in Dakar on Monday February 1st and will continue to Addis Ababa on Wednesday February 3rd 2016.

In each of the two countries B2B meetings as well as company visits can be arranged for members of the Luxembourg Trade Delegation. Whereas both countries are to be considered as regional hubs for East and West Africa respectively, they differ largely from a demographic perspective. With its 100 million inhabitants, Ethiopia is one of the most populous countries on the African Continent.

In 2012/13, Ethiopia’s economy grew by 9,7% and made the country one of Africa’s top performing economies. Through co-ordinated prudent fiscal and monetary policies the Government has brought down inflation to single digits. Senegal’s economic growth is around 5%. The new development strategy laid down for the period from 2014 t0 2035 in its “Plan Sénégal Emergent“ (P.S.E.) clearly defines priority actions for the years to come.

You are kindly requested to duly complete the attached registration form and send it back to the team of the International Affairs (e-mail: africa@cc.lu) no later than January 8, 2016. Because of the complexity of the 2 markets we urge companies who ask for B2B meetings to send us their profiles and registration form before the deadline so as to allow us to start the search for partners with immediate effect.
