Long Live The Summer 2023 is set to bring a perfect end to the summer season

Building on the success of its previous editions in 2021 and 2022, the City of Luxembourg, the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce, and Luxexpo The Box are thrilled to join forces once more to bring forth an exceptional event that will prolong the magic of the holiday season. From September 15 to 17, 2023, Long Live The Summer will offer an unmissable experience catering to families and young adults alike. Attendees can look forward to a blend of sustainable shopping, local gastronomy, and a diverse programme of interactive workshops.

More than an event, Long Live the Summer was conceived to provide practical support to local businesses and entrepreneurs who have faced significant challenges in recent years. Over 100 innovative businesses and projects from the Greater Region participate in this engaging event every year, amongst them a curated selection of boutiques, emerging entrepreneurs, cafes and bars, local designers, musicians, artists, and online retailers from Luxembourg.

As a flagship project for sustainable development, the event serves as a platform for driving positive change. By promoting the local economy, sustainable mobility, vegetarian cuisine, and effective waste management, the organizer actively commits to a more environmentally friendly future. This year, Long Live The Summer welcomes a collaboration with the renowned Luxembourg designer Olaf Recht. Recht's innovative and sustainable approach will infuse the exhibition spaces with a new sparkle, creating a fresh, captivating experience for attendees. For this, Luxexpo The Box will repurpose building materials from previous editions and thus, effectively reduce its environmental impact while creating adaptable spaces through the concept of 'chronotopia'. Integrating both functionality and aesthetics, meeting tables will for instance also serve as separation zones, encouraging discussion while maintaining a certain degree of privacy. Similarly, signage totems will transform into comfortable benches, offering a space to relax and enjoy the atmosphere.

This multifunctional, creative approach to decoration maximises visitor experience while minimising waste.

The transformation also promises to enhance the overall shopping experience, creating an even more pleasant atmosphere for all attendees. Lydie Polfer, Mayor of Luxembourg City, remarks: “'Mon QuartierMon Commerce', Luxembourg City's dedicated space at this extraordinary event reflects the commercial diversity of the capital's 24 districts and offers visitors of all ages a chance to unwind and explore a variety of original and innovative products. With 50 stands provided to the capital's retailers, visitors of all ages can immerse themselves in the ambiance of our magnificent city as they stroll through this exceptional space."

Long Live The Summer's programme for 2023 has been specifically designed to entertain, interact, and engage families and young adults. In addition to browsing through unique shops, visitors can indulge in an array of regional specialties and a wide selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes available at the street food stalls. The programme will also feature creative workshops for all ages, including origami and furoshiki, salsa dance classes, upcycling and cooking workshops, and captivating performances by various associations from across the country. Furthermore, top DJs will take the stage and ignite the dancefloor with the best summer hits.
