Mission économique

Saturday 5 Nov 2011 > Friday 11 Nov 2011

Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

From November 7 to 11, H.R.H. the Grand Duke will lead an Official Visit to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

In the framework of this Official Visit, the Chamber of Commerce of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, in close cooperation with the Ministry of the Economy and Foreign Trade and the Agency “Luxembourg for Business”, will organise a business programme in Ho Chi Minh City from November 9 to November 11, 2011. On November 10,a multi-sectoral seminar is scheduled in presence of H.R.H. the Grand Duke of Luxembourg. The seminar will be followed by a reception allowing good networking opportunities.

Participating companies from Luxembourg may request business meetings with local companies or institutions in Ho Chi Minh City.

During the last decade, Vietnamese authorities have reaffirmed their commitment to economic liberalisation and international integration. Recently, Vietnam has undergone the structural reforms, needed to modernize the economy and to produce more competitive export-driven industries. WTO membership has provided Vietnam an anchor to the global market and reinforced the domestic reform process. Vietnam achieved around 7% annual GDP growth from 2000 onwards, making it one of the world’s fastest growing economies. Stimulus spending, including a subsidized lending program, helped the economy through the global financial crisis, and foreign investors have pledged $8 billion in foreign direct investment.
