Special purpose bonds are more ‘marketing tool’ than financial necessity, analysts say.
One of the few genuine innovations announced by Prime Minister Luc Frieden (CSV) in this year’s State of the Nation address was ‘housing bonds’. By introducing the bonds for retail investors, the government aims to create a new instrument to tackle the housing crisis that has plagued the country for decades.
