Eurosatory 2026 once again confirmed its position as the world’s leading exhibition for defence and security, with a record-breaking edition bringing together over 40,000 visitors, 2,600 exhibitors and 40 national pavilions, including Luxembourg, Canada, Germany, Spain, Belgium, and Sweden.

This year’s event highlighted key strategic themes shaping the future of the sector, including multi-domain superiority, with a strong focus on cybersecurity, space, artificial intelligence and emerging digital challenges, all of which are central to Europe’s efforts to reinforce its sovereignty and resilience.

In a context of growing geopolitical uncertainty, Luxembourg’s presence was significantly reinforced this year. The national pavilion hosted a record 27 exhibitors, over twice as many as in the previous edition, reflecting the rapid development, ambition and maturity of its defence and security ecosystem.

Exhibitors at the pavilion showcased the breadth and depth of Luxembourg’s capabilities across high-value segments such as advanced materials, space technologies, cybersecurity, data analytics and defence systems: adwäisEO, Airtech Europe, AM 4 AM, Amphinicy Technologies, ANG, AP LUX, ArcelorMittal, B Medical Systems, CTI Systems, Data Design Engineering, EURO-COMPOSITES, Goodyear, Gradel Lightweight, HITEC Luxembourg, Infinite Orbits, LuxDefence ASBL, Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology, LuxGovSat, LUXUAV, Rafinex, Saturne Technology, SES Astrav, SkyRadar, Stellar Telecommunications, Tadaweb, TR-AX Trailers and Uplift360. The strong presence of both established companies and innovative startups demonstrated the diversity of Luxembourg’s defence ecosystem and its capacity to deliver solutions across the entire value chain, from research and development to operational deployment.

Luxembourg’s presence at Eurosatory 2026 was honoured by the official visit of Yuriko Backes, Minister of Defence, Lex Delles, Minister of the Economy, SME, Energy and Tourism, and Carlo Thelen, Director General of the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce.

During the official reception at the National Pavilion, they delivered a strong and coherent message about Luxembourg’s commitment to positioning itself as a reliable and forward-looking partner in the global defence landscape. They also highlighted that the defence and security sector is not only a strategic priority, but also a key driver of economic diversification and long-term resilience. As the country continues to scale up its defence efforts, this ambition is expected to strengthen industrial capabilities, enhance innovation and create new business opportunities for Luxembourg-based companies.

Speaking at the Official Networking Reception, Carlo Thelen, Director General of the Chamber of Commerce, stated: “We welcome the Government’s continued commitment to advancing Luxembourg’s defence sector through its national defence industrial strategy and is particularly encouraging to see that several recommendations from the Lux4Defence report, developed by the Chamber of Commerce together with industry stakeholders, are now being translated into concrete action. We are proud to have contributed to this momentum, notably through the creation and development of LuxDefence, that will play a pivotal role in further federating the defence community in Luxembourg.”

Given its growing strategic importance at pan-European level, defence is also embedded in the Chamber’s international initiatives which include systematically a defence track, highlighting Luxembourg’s commitment to strengthening European cooperation in this field.
