About the AIIB

The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) is a multilateral development bank with a mission to improve social and economic outcomes in Asia. Headquartered in Beijing, the AIIB began operations in January 2016 and has now grown to 97 approved members worldwide.

The Annual Meeting is the flagship event of the AIIB, which is hosted by one of the AIIB member countries on a rotation basis. Luxembourg was the first non-regional founding member to join the AIIB in 2015. It will be the first Annual Meeting to take place outside of Asia.

The overarching theme of the 2019 AIIB Annual Meeting will be Cooperation and Connectivity, in recognition of the economic and social benefits to be realized through better connectivity within and between countries and regions, across Europe and Asia.
