A business delegation, accompanied by the Chamber of Commerce, Luxinnovation and the Embassy of Luxembourg in Berlin, participated in a Trade Fair Visit to GITEX AI Europe 2026. For the first time, the visit went beyond the exhibition itself, with a dedicated programme designed to immerse the delegation in Berlin’s innovation ecosystem to strengthen regional cooperation and support Europe’s technological sovereignty.

Arriving one day ahead of the trade fair, participants engaged with Berlin’s innovation ecosystem at Technology Park Adlershof, home to around 600 companies and 9,500 employees. Highlights included a meeting with IGZ Startup Center, as well as presentations on advanced 3D printing technologies and quantum cryptography solutions developed by German startups.  The visit concluded with an Official Networking Reception held at the Embassy of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg in Berlin, in the presence of H.E. Ambassador Sylvie Lucas. Bringing together representatives from Luxembourg and Germany, the event provided an excellent platform for dialogue and networking.

On this occasion, Luxinnovation presented Luxembourg’s dynamic innovation ecosystem, showcasing the country's strengths as a hub for technology and international collaboration.

Serving as a perfect prelude to the trade fair, the reception highlighted the depth of Luxembourg-German economic ties and the shared commitment to fostering future partnerships.

On day 2, the delegation explored the evolving AI landscape at GITEX AI Europe, with discussions centered on scaling AI adoption across Europe, with an emphasis on digital sovereignty and cloud infrastructure. Topics of strategic importance for Europe, they were also reflected in the addresses of key political leaders present at GITEX, including German Federal Minister for Digital Transformation Dr Karsten Wildberger and the Dutch Minister for Economic Affairs and Sovereignty Willemijn Aerdts. On the infrastructure and industry side, major European cloud and hosting players as the German company IONOS, represented by its CEO Achim Weiss, illustrated the critical role of sovereign cloud capabilities in enabling large-scale AI deployment across Europe.

The 2026 edition brought together more than 800 exhibitors, including three Luxembourg companies: Gcore, Tresor AI and Infratailors.

Throughout the trade fair, the delegation connected with key international players, notably during the Benelux networking event at the Netherlands Pavilion. It provided an excellent way to conclude the programme of the Trade Fair Visit and offered a valuable opportunity to further strengthen cross-border collaboration within the Benelux region.

This Trade Fair Visit was instrumental in enhancing Luxembourg’s visibility as an emerging European AI hub and underlined its continued commitment to AI and international collaboration.
