The supply chain sector shows its assets at the "Transport Logistic" fair
Luxembourg makes it happen in Munich
From May 9th to 12th May 2017, a delegation of over 20 Luxembourg companies of Logistic sector is taking part of ‘Transport Logistic’ fair in Munich, which is the world's leading trade fair for logistics, mobility, IT, and supply chain management.
Two Luxembourg national booths are jointly organized by the Ministry of the Economy and the Chamber of Commerce. The modern, innovative and pragmatic design is demonstrating the Luxembourg state of art logistics infrastructure, products and services. New logo of nation branding on the top of the booths is very visible and attracts visitors.
In the Hall B1 reserved for Air Cargo Europe 2017, the 8th exhibition and conference for air cargo and logistics, Arthur Welter Transport S.à r.l., Cargolux Airlines International S.A., Cluster for Logistics Asbl, DuPont de Nemours S.à r.l., Global Airlift Solutions Ltd., Innovative Software S.à r.l., LuxairCARGO, lux-Airport represent the Luxembourg air hub. Hall B6 houses freight transport and logistics services with 7 additional Luxembourg companies, including CFL multimodal, Faymonville Distribution S.A., Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST), Luxport S.A., INCO Logistics S.à r.l., Teralink Solutions – POST Lux. Group, Société du Port de Mertert S.A., Transalliance Europe and TÜV NORD Luxembourg S.à r.l. LIST’s tangible table showcases the knowhow of Luxembourg advanced research in transport and logistics services. The decision makers of logistics sectors as well as individual visitors can overview in real time the transportation and infrastructure situation in Luxembourg, supporting the development of new strategies and solutions.
Cargolux partners up with Emirates
Shortly after the opening of the fair, Cargolux announced its new partnership with Emirates SkyCargo, a memorandum of understanding is signed for a strategic operational partnership, under the witness of Francois Bausch, Minister for Sustainable Development and Infrastructure.
Described as the first of its kind between a mainline airline and a specialised freighter operator, it will allow the two carriers to cooperate and offer their complementary strengths and shared values.
Emirates SkyCargo will start freighter operations to Luxembourg from June 2017 and both carriers’ cargo will be handled at the same facility in Findel. Cargolux will also increase the frequency of freighters to Dubai World Central (DWC) from its current three times to a week service. Cargolux freighters operating to Dubai World Central will be handled by Emirates SkyCargo.
Cargolux president and chief executive Richard Forson commented this new partnership: “Cargolux is delighted to be working with Emirates SkyCargo on this agreement. As one of the leading carriers worldwide, Emirates SkyCargo is an important player in the industry as Cargolux is, and our supplementary capabilities allow us to develop service offerings that both of us could not provide on our own.”
Minister Bausch has visited the two Luxembourg booths and discussed the development of the companies in their respective fields.
Besides the two collective booths, among other Luxembourg companies, Wallenborn, CHAMP, Clear Logistics and Sécurité GMR participate in the fair with their own stands respectively. More Luxembourg companies are present at the fair as visitors.
The 4 days’ fair includes also a comprehensive conference program, where the exhibitors and visitors share their knowledge and visions of world’s logistics and transportation.
Networking at the “Luxembourg Logistics Night”
The Luxembourg Logistics Night organised by the Cluster for Logistics and lux-Airport, who sponsors the event, in the Augustiner Restaurant on May 10th 2017, attracted more than 120 people. The guests included Luxembourg logistics actors and their partners who enjoyed typical Bavarian music, food and beer as well as the festive atmosphere. After the intensive day at the fair, this event offers a relaxing networking opportunity for the delegation.
