House of Startups turns up the heat with an African Cooperation Visit right before Christmas

On December 19, 2022 the House of Startups had the privilege to welcome an official Delegation from Benin. After attending working meetings with the Luxembourg government resulting in the signature of a General Cooperation Agreement between the two countries, H.E. Mr Romuald WADAGNI, Minister of State in charge of the Economy and Finance of the Republic of Benin and H.E. Mr Aurélien AGBÉNONCI, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of the Republic of Benin, visited the House of Startups.

The State Ministers were accompanied by H.E. Eusèbe Agbangla, Ambassador of Benin in Paris, together with representatives of the Luxembourg Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Development and of the Luxembourg Ministries of Economy and Finance.

Welcomed by Nasir Zubair, the CEO of the Luxembourg House of Financial Technology, they met Fintech Ibiza and Investor MiddleGame Venture Capital who shared insights into innovation working hand in hand with development perspectives for both countries.

The visit continued with the presentation of the mission of the House of Startups and its incubators by the CEO, Philippe Linster, who guided the guests through the innovation spaces. Bastien Berg, Coordinator of the Luxembourg-City Incubator, presented the fields of activity of the incubator and introduced some Luxembourg startups already active in Africa. GreenEarthAgro, Hydrosat, and Keym pitched their project which arose a lot of interest.

H.E Mr Aurélien Agbénonci said “he was delighted to observe the technological synergies and commercial exchanges already in place with Benin and with the African continent.”

The visit was closed with a short introduction of Lsfi, focusing on sustainable finance.

The State Ministers of the Republic of Benin were very pleased with this innovation immersion at the House of Startups.
