On 2 December 2021, the Business Club Belgium-Luxembourg (BCBL) and Luxembourg's food and lifestyle magazine KACHEN, in collaboration with M.E.W. Promotion & Consulting, invited BCBL members, as well as food and beverage professionals from Belgium, to a virtual tasting of Luxembourg products.

The aim of the event was to give a first insight into the diversity of Luxembourg products across national borders, and to increase awareness of the valuable link between the product, the producer and their country of origin.

The participants received a box with selected delicacies by post prior to the event. The products ranged from crémant from Domaine Schumacher-Knepper, matured Ham from Salaisons Meyer, Apple, Ice & Perry cider from Ramborn, a spice mix from The Spice Collection, Berdorf cheese from Fromagerie Schmalen, Battor & other aperitifs, and finally chocolate pralines from Chocolaterie Genaveh.

After the welcoming words from Stephan Müller, the Ambassador of Luxembourg in Belgium, the founder of the cooking magazine "KACHEN", Bibi Wintersdorf, and the Deputy Secretary General of the Business Club Belgium-Luxembourg, Camille Nothomb, the seven producers presented their delicacies. Not only did the products impress with their high quality and outstanding taste, but they were also impressive for their sustainability and social responsibility aspects in the production process.

The products aroused great interest among potential trade partners, food bloggers and company representatives of the Business Club Belgium-Luxembourg. During an open discussion round, interesting exchanges could take place, most of which will hopefully lead to partnerships between the Luxemburgish producers and Belgian entrepreneurs.

"Tasting Luxembourg: local products on tour" originates from the Business Club Luxembourg (Berlin)’s initiative which launched this project in April 2021. Thanks to the success and enthusiasm generated, the project has soon been taken over by the BCBL. It has also now become a pilot project of the Business Club Belgium-Luxembourg. In view of the many other Luxembourg products, this initiative should not end here. The action was supported by the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce and the Luxembourg Embassy in Belgium.

The Business Club Belgium-Luxembourg (BCBL)

The Business Club Belgium-Luxembourg (BCBL) is the reference network for Belgian and Luxemburgish companies in Belgium. Founded in 2017, the Club is a joint initiative of the Luxembourg Embassy in Belgium and the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce. The BCBL gives the Belgium-Luxembourg economic relations a voice and the bilateral partnership a face. As a unique networking platform, the BCBL supports Belgium-Luxembourg economic relations and strives to promote the attractiveness of Luxembourg and its sectors of activities.

It aims at bringing together entrepreneurs from all sectors who share a common economic and cultural interest in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. By way of regular events, seminars, delegation trips and receptions, members are provided with unique networking opportunities and the possibility to discuss their business perspectives with political and business representatives. If relevant, the BCBL members are offered individual assistance in their market entry to the neighbouring Luxembourg or Belgium.
