B2B Meetings - Visit of a Kyrgyz Business Delegation

On 2 June 2022, the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce welcomed a Kyrgyz business delegation headed by the Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to BENELUX countries, H.E. Mr. Muktar Djumaliev. In light of the 30th anniversary of the Luxembourg-Kyrgyz diplomatic relations, this event reflected the potential of bilateral dialogue and trade cooperation.  After a presentation of the Kyrgyz market, 10 Luxembourg companies were able to discuss concrete projects with 14 Kyrgyz counterparts during the B2B meetings. A networking cocktail ended the event.

Kyrgyzstan (6.5 million inhabitants) is a small open economy which is expected to record a growth rate of more than 5% this year. The country is characterized by an abundance of metallic resources, the exploitation of which represents 30% of its GDP. The country also offers great potential for tourism and hydroelectricity (currently, only 10% exploited), while occupying a strategic position and transit corridor between China, Russia and Europe.
