What is the future of Europe’s supply chains in a context of growing political uncertainty? How can EU institutions guarantee that the proposed framework will not hinder the competitiveness of European businesses? How can we enrich the policy discussions based on existing best practices?

On 8 November 2022, Eurochambres, the EESC Employers' Group and EuroCommerce will host the event entitled “Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence: How to make it work?”, from 16.00 to 17.30 (CET) in a hybrid format – at the EESC premises in Brussels (Rue Belliard 99/101, room JDE63) and online via the Interactio platform.EESC.

Earlier in the year, the European Commission adopted a proposal for a Directive on Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence to foster more sustainability and drive responsible corporate behaviour throughout the value chain.

European companies have made substantial efforts to increase their responsibility and sustainable impact in global chains and, in many cases, contributed to enhance environmental and labour standards in less diligent jurisdictions. With regulations in place in several Member States and the existence of relevant guidance set at the international level, EU lawmakers must take this opportunity to achieve more harmonisation when it comes to embedding responsible practices into business relationships and achieve greater accountability and ownership between parties involved in supply chains.

Please note that the registration will be open until 1 November 2022.
