Politically, the introduction of economic reforms, is almost always very risky. So what is the best way to carry them out? The fast and the most painful method or a slower, longer and a more phased-out approach? How should politicians present ideas for far-reaching economic changes in order to gain the necessary acceptance and support of the voters? While introducing reforms, what should be done differently in stable economies of Luxembourg and Poland (or other countries in the EW, and in a very troubled economy such as Ukraine's? Prof. Leszek Balcerowicz, the author of Poland's successful economic transformation, sometimes referred to as the architect of Polish "shock therapy", and Mr. Pierre Gramegna, Luxembourg's minister offinance will try to answer these and other questions.
