Seminar on Special Economic Zones in Poland
On April 21st, a conference on “Special Economic Zones in Poland – Partners for Investment and Trade” was organised in the premises of the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce as a Joint Venture between the Chamber of Commerce, the Poland-Luxembourg Business Club, the Embassy of Poland in Luxembourg and the trade section of the Embassy of Poland in Brussels.
Poland was the only country in the European Union to avoid recession as a result of the financial crisis. The banking sector has not experienced bankruptcies. Exports, supported by a favorable exchange rate of the Zloty, continued to grow and household consumption has remained stable. Today, Poland is one of the 20 fastest growing economies in the world, and the third most rapidly developing economy in Europe and remains an attractive target market for doing business.
The representatives of the “best venues” for doing business in Poland, the Special Economic Zones of Lodz, Starachowice, Walbrzych and the Science and Technology Park Rzeszów-Dworzysko informed the audience about the opportunities underlying these zones, which have attracted some of the world’s largest corporations in the automotive, aviation and technology industries, as well as the metallurgy and pharmaceutical industries. The different forms of support and assistance offered to businesses were presented as well as the specific incentives and benefits, guaranteed up until 2026, in each of these zones.
